M A R K A L E W I N E

 

 

 

Mark Alewine is a private instructor for the Plano and Richardson Independent School Districts and teaches woodwinds at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas.  He earned a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Arts from West Texas A&M University where he studied saxophone with Don Lefevre.

 

He is an active woodwind performer and adjudicator throughout Texas, and has served as guest clinician at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention on several occasions. His students have garnered many awards including TMEA all-state bands and jazz band, Texas Association of Symphony Orchestras young artist competition, Plano Symphony young artist competition, and Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony. His professional and student quartets have also appeared as finalists in the Fischoff National Chamber Ensemble Competition.

 

Mark has performed with the Texas Wind Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, Texas Saxophone Quartet, Turtle Creek Chorale, Dallas Street Choir, Contemporary Chorale, Dallas Women's Chorus, Dallas Theatre Center, Theatre Three, Water Tower Theater, and many other musical theatre productions in the DFW area.
